Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has provided his verdict on the three biggest football clubs in the world, sparking big debate among supporters.

The Argentinian was discussing the development of United youngster and fellow countryman Alejandro Garnacho who has developed massively under manager Erik ten Hag.

Having joined United from Atletico Madrid's youth setup in October 2020, the 18-year-old has blossomed this term with ten Hag providing the teenager with numerous opportunities.

With five goals and six assists in 32 appearances across all competitions this term, the Argentine has enjoyed a successful breakthrough season at Old Trafford.

Tevez scored 34 goals in 99 appearances while on loan at United from West Ham United before making a controversial permanent move across Manchester to City in 2009.

At City, the former striker scored 73 goals in 148 matches, helping the club win their first-ever Premier League title.

Speaking to TyCSports, Tevez said: "Garnacho is good. To play for Manchester United you have to be good.

"He's playing for one of the top three clubs in the world, which are Real Madrid, Manchester City and United. It is not easy for Argentines to insert yourself into that culture. To play there you have to be a crack."

By naming Manchester City as one of the three biggest clubs in the world, the Argentinian has stirred up debate online with supporters of United flocking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

@Cn25_98 tweeted: "Bro added City to convince himself he did the right thing."

@UTD_Calvin tweeted: "Snuck Manchester city in like we wouldn't notice."

@Blaqboy_kharly tweeted: "I was okay till I saw Man city."

@Ayotundeee tweeted: "Tf's he on about."

@Acawun_mama tweeted: "Big clubs in the world and he is mentioning Man city, okay"

@ShowtimeMUFC tweeted: "You have to be on crack too for mentioning Man City in the biggest club in the world talk"

@JusticeMUFC tweeted: "Real Madrid, United and WHO?"

@busbyaniteds tweeted: "Blud had to include man City into the conversation"

@KunleyDaKulprit tweeted: "city is NOT ome of the biggest clubs in the world, mr tevez. We're talking about the world... History, titles, fanbase, being immediately recognizable. . Be quiet and go away."

Whether Tevez was intentionally rattling Manchester United supporters is unknown but his argument for City's inclusion in his list would certainly make for an interesting debate.
