Mark Goldbridge claimed Manchester United are “screwed” after Dean Henderson’s latest Instagram post.

David de Gea’s status as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper may be coming to an end.

It has been reported that the Spaniard signed a new contract extension with United, only for the Old Trafford club to withdraw the offer and come back with different and greatly reduced terms.

De Gea is now a free agent, weighing up United’s new proposal. Meanwhile, United are in the market for a new shot-stopper.

The club have allegedly coveted Andre Onana from Inter, and the Serie A sides’ CEO Beppe Marotta admitted they are waiting for a bid from United this week. Inter are said to want around £43m for Onana plus add-ons.

For now, however, United enter pre-season with Henderson as the best suitor for the No.1 spot.

Goldbridge says Man Utd are “screwed”

United YouTuber Goldbridge, who is a vocal supporter of De Gea, expressed his concern at Henderson being offered the No.1 spot ahead of the new season.

On Instagram, Henderson posted a picture of his used goalkeeper gloves, signalling a return to United pre-season. The 26-year-old captioned the picture: “What a way to start the week”.

Indeed, Henderson angered a contingent of the United fanbase last season, after he publicly lamented the club's “criminal” decision to backtrack on a promise of handing him the No.1 spot.

The shot-stopper was reluctant to train under Ten Hag last June while negotiations to join Nottingham Forest on loan were in an advanced stage and spoke out against United once the move was secured.

And Goldbridge was quick to fire shots at Henderson upon his return to United training. The United supporter tweeted: “Now Ten Hag has seen him we're screwed… Remember he said one session and Ten Hag would want him as number 1."

Henderson has been strongly linked with a permanent return to Forest this summer.
