Manchester City Fans Brutally Mock Manchester United With Pile Of DUNG Outside The Etihad

"If found, return to Old Trafford!"

Manchester City supporters have ridiculed Manchester United with a pile of dung outside the Etihad ahead of their win of Brighton.

A day after United were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield, City regained top spot in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over the Seagulls.

Second-half goals from Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva secured a crucial win for City, who are now one point clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.

United, on the other hand, are languishing down in sixth after their drubbing at Anfield, with their top four hopes now hanging by a thread ahead of Saturday’s must-win match against Arsenal.

Ahead of their win over Brighton, City fans came up with a unique way of mocking United.

After finding a pile of horse manure outside the Etihad, an anonymous supporter stuck a note into the dung, which read: "If found, return to Old Trafford!"

A phone number was also listed, with an apparent reference to City’s famous 6-1 win over United during their title-winning campaign in the 2011-12 season.

"Call the Old Trafford turd line on: 01-61-61-61-61," the note added.

The Athletic's Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee wrote on Twitter: "No word of a lie two coppers on horses have just seen it, laughed heartily, circled back around and are now taking pictures of it."

City supporters on social media also found the note funny, although some have questioned the level of planning that had gone into the stunt.

"So this guy pre-made that note and took it to the game in case he saw horse s**t lol," wrote one fan wrote on Twitter.

City can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points if they beat Watford on Saturday, with Liverpool facing Everton in the Merseyside derby later that afternoon.

City will then take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
