Manchester United transfer target Jurrien Timber makes three demands for move

Erik ten Hag's plans for the summer have already begun, despite the delay in United's proposed takeover.

One of Manchester United's big summer transfer target, Jurrien Timber, has revealed his interest in moving away from his current club but laid down his three demands.

It could be a tricky summer for United, especially if they've missed out on the Champions League places, as they await to find out who their owners will be.

The Glazers' sale of the club is taking a lot longer than fans would have hoped for, leading to brutal criticism from club legend Gary Neville.

So far it's not been confirmed but some are claiming Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be named the prefered bidder, even if Qatari Sheikh Jassim is desperate to stop his competition.

Ten Hag has to try and complete his summer plans amidst all the takeover chat, as he attempts to turn up their title aspirations next season.

A striker appears to be their number one priority in the transfer window, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen the two main targets.

Behind that there is a good chance that the Old Trafford side will look to add a defender to their squad and Ten Hag is a well known admirer of Ajax star Timber, who he managed at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Timber can play at both centre back and right back and has revealed that he could be tempted to leave the Eredivisie side, telling Ziggy Sport, "For me it is the same situation as last season. If I say, 'I'm leaving', it has to fit.

"Playing style is important, playing minutes… Participating in the prizes is also important. My favourite country? I dare not say that.

"That's why I'm doing the same as last season. The chance is there, it can happen, but I’m also good here. I'm still young and everything suits me here. I’m going to take a look."

The 21-year-old has impressed in his last two seasons at Ajax and was wanted by Ten Hag to join him in England last summer, after the manager left the Eredivisie giants.

Former United boss Louis van Gaal warned the Netherlands defender not to move to Old Trafford last year, telling him his place in the World Cup squad could be in doubt.

Van Gaal suggested that Timber might not play much and when the club couldn't sign him they moved on to teammate Lisandro Martinez.

The Argentina star has had a brilliant debut campaign for the club and won the World Cup, come the summer he may be joined by a familiar face.
