Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has hinted that he could look to leave Old Trafford this summer amid a lack of playing time under manager Erik ten Hag.

The Swedish defender joined United from Benfica in 2017, when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club.

He has since made over 200 appearances, and was an important player under both Mourinho and his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He kept his place in the side on a regular basis last season, despite the arrival of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

But the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, one of the first deals done by Ten Hag when he was appointed as manager last summer, has dealt Lindelof a significant blow when it comes to playing time.

He has made just nine Premier League appearances this season, and has only started twice in the league since the conclusion of the World Cup.

Now, the Swede has hinted he could look to leave Old Trafford for pastures new at the end of the season - but says he is not rushing to make a decision.

Lindelof on Man Utd future

The 28-year-old has been named in the Sweden squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Belgium and Azerbaijan - and addressed his future in a press conference.

He explained (quotes via Manchester Evening News): "Of course, like every player, you want to play every game and obviously I haven't done that this season.

"But like I always say when I come here [to play for Sweden], it's a pleasure to be here and I'm always happy to represent my country.

"I'm really looking forward to the games that we have and I spoke to Janne [Andersson, Sweden manager] before to say that I was really looking forward to coming here and to perform, and to be on the pitch with the guys again.

"Like I said, I want to play, that's why I play football. I want to play games, but I haven't thought about that [potential transfer], right now I'm just focusing on the national team and then of course, the rest of the season with the club.

"Then in the summer we'll re-evaluate and see what is best."
