Man Utd plotting January bid for Norwegian wonderkid with Arsenal and Ajax also interested

Manchester United are considering a January move for a Molde wonderkid, according to reports.

Manchester United are considering a January move for Molde wonderkid Sivert Mannsverk, according to reports.

United boss Erik ten Hag has previously confirmed that the club are seeking an attacking reinforcement, having been heavily linked with a loan move for Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix in recent weeks.

But any deal is likely to be a temporary arrangement, with the Daily Mail reporting that United are shopping in the loan market during the current transfer window.

That doesn't appear to mean they have completely ruled out permanent deals, however, with reports in Spain claiming they are interested in completing a cut-price deal for Marco Asensio.

Asensio could be available for between €15-20 million, given his current contract status, and Sport claim a deal could be done in a matter of days.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils also have their focus set on a Norwegian starlet.

Man Utd interested in signing Sivert Mannsverk

Mannsverk is being targeted by United, Arsenal and Ajax for a January move, according to French outlet Jeunes Footeux.

The Molde youngster, who is 20 years of age, reportedly has an asking price of €10 million, which has captured the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs.

A central midfielder, Mannsverk has scored five goals during his senior career to date, and Molde boss Erling Moe compared him to none other than United legend Roy Keane.

Speaking in April, he told Norwegian outlet Nettavisen: "He is sensible in his choices, and then he is very tough in the head.

"He's tough in duels and tackles, and goes in and does the dirty work. He is not only the one who wants the ball, he takes the tough tackles and the yellow cards if he needs to. It's a good quality to have at such a young age."

United have worked with Molde in recent years, with the two clubs negotiating the deal for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to take over as caretaker manager at Old Trafford in 2018, replacing Jose Mourinho.

And although Molde expected the Champions League winner to return at the end of the season, they did congratulate him on social media when he was appointed United boss on a full-time basis.
