Erik ten Hag has been dealt a major blow following reports detailing Carlo Ancelotti's summer transfer plans.

Ten Hag is keen to invest in his squad this summer as he prepares for a busy European schedule next season.

United's 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Thursday evening has cast their top four hopes into doubt, although the Red Devils are still firm favourites to qualify for the Champions League.

However, Real Madrid could stand in the way of the club's transfer plans, with Carlo Ancelotti said to be plotting moves for two Manchester United targets, as well as one of their current players.

The Spanish giants look to have already beaten them to Jude Bellingham's signature, with negotiations said to be in their final stages, according to Fabrizio Romano.

But that's not all, as Ancelotti eyes up a move for long-standing Manchester United target Jeremie Frimpong, claim German news outlet BILD.

Man Utd dealt triple transfer blow

Ten Hag is thought to be in the market for a right-back this summer, and Frimpong has emerged as a potential addition.

The Bayer Leverusen wing-back has managed an impressive nine goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions this term.

While the Old Trafford outfit have reportedly held "positive talks" with the 22-year-old over a potential move to the Premier League.

Although Real Madrid could now arrive on the scene, claim BILD, as Ancelotti seeks a long-term replacement for 31-year-old Dani Carvajal.

The report also details Madrid's interest in current United right-back Diogo Dalot, who has been linked with a summer move away.

The Portugal international has been kept out of the team by Aaron Wan Bissaka for the majority of the campaign, following the Englishman's terrific form. But his future could lie at the Bernabeu.
