The Real Madrid boss has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Carlo Ancelotti has been 'approached to replace Erik ten Hag' at Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult start to the new campaign and currently sit 10th in the Premier League table.

While their form hasn't been much better in Europe, either. United currently sit bottom of their Champions League group after consecutive defeats to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

As a result, the odds have been slashed on Ten Hag to be sacked, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe's alleged assurances that the Dutchman will stay in a job if he resumes the role of sporting director at Old Trafford.

However, a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito has linked Ancelotti with the United job, should the Italian decide to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Journalist Benjamin Lopez stated: “Ancelotti has two things decided about his future, one is that if they offer him a renewal he will remain at Madrid. Brazil can put whatever they want on the table, he will stay.”

Elaborating on Ancelotti's situation, Lopez revealed that apart from Brazil, he has an offer from the Canadian National Team and Manchester United.

Lopez continued: “He has a house in Vancouver and his wife is Canadian so he would be delighted with that.

“The last is not an offer in writing but has been sent to him verbally through his agent, it’s from the Premier League and Manchester United. They would take him tomorrow.”

Although Ancelotti’s is said to be against a return to the Premier League, after previously taking charge of Everton between 2019 and 2021.

Lopez adds that the 64-year-old's personal preference would be to extend his contract at the Bernabeu, depending on how the season unfolds.
