Manchester United have confirmed their starting XI and matchday squad to take on Everton in the Premier League.

United play in the early kick-off this weekend after defeating Brentford 1-0 on Wednesday.

The result pushed them back up into the top four, but there was an injury concern for Erik ten Hag after Luke Shaw limped off with a suspected hamstring problem.

The Dutchman could not give a clear update on the status of the left-back, with the England international still awaiting a full assessment of his injury.

There was better news for the Red Devils, however, with Alejandro Garnacho pictured in training after a month out with an ankle problem.

And Ten Hag confirmed that Christian Eriksen would make his long-awaited return to the squad this weekend after suffering an ankle injury in an FA Cup fourth round clash against Reading at Old Trafford in January.

Now, United have confirmed their starting XI and substitutes to take on Sean Dyche's Everton.

Ten Hag has made a series of changes from the Brentford win, with the most notable change seeing captain Harry Maguire replace Raphael Varane in central defence. The Frenchman is on the bench.

The second change, meanwhile, sees Tyrell Malacia replace the injured Shaw at left-back. There is also a switch at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka in for Diogo Dalot, who drops to the bench.

Jadon Sancho is handed a second consecutive start after replacing Wout Weghorst in midweek, while Eriksen does return to the squad after recovering from injury. The Dane is on the bench.
