Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim have both proposed to make mega-money deals at Manchester United as they battle to take over the Old Trafford club, according to reports.

The Qatari has bid £5billion to buy 100 per cent of United but faces competition from Ratcliffe, who is the owner of petrochemicals company Ineos.

Ratcliffe is said to be the favourite, having allegedly put a higher value on the Premier League giants, and offered the Glazers the opportunity to retain a minority stake in the club.

As both parties await a decision from the Glazer family, reports have emerged of their respective transfer plans.

Here is how Manchester United could line up next season under Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe respectively, should claims regarding their preferred transfer targets bear fruit.

Sheikh Jassim’s Man Utd

Bild journalist Christian Falk claimed Sheikh Jassim wants to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

The France captain, who has netted 35 goals for his club this term, would fill the void left in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s acrimonious departure.

Sheikh Jassim would also reportedly be keen to sign Mbappe’s international teammates Kingsley Coman and Eduardo Camavinga, with the former likely to operate on the right flank.

The right-wing is a position where United need reinforcements, with big-money signings Jadon Sancho and Antony having failed to impress at the Old Trafford club thus far.

Coman, who at 26 has already represented Bayern Munich, Juventus and PSG certainly has the pedigree to succeed at United.

Meanwhile, Camavinga, 20, is already one of the most lauded midfielders in world football and could link up with former teammate Casemiro at the base of midfield.

Here is how United could line up under Sheikh Jassim’s ownership.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Man Utd

According to Football Transfers, Ratcliffe has identified four players to sign should his takeover of United be successful

Ratcliffe’s first ambition is said to be securing Marcus Rashford to a new deal, with the forward having netted 28 goals and claimed eight assists in 46 games this season.

Alongside Rashford, Ratcliffe also wants a striker with Victor Osimhen reportedly being targeted. The Napoli forward could cost up to £120million however, which is reportedly half of the club’s budget.

United have also been linked to Harry Kane in recent weeks, though it may be difficult to negotiate a deal with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

As for defensive recruits, a move for Monaco defender Axel Disasi will reportedly be explored. While the player is talented, he unlikely to displace compatriot Raphaël Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

The publication claims a new midfielder will also be brought in under Ratcliffe, with one of Frenkie de Jong and Declan Rice being considered. Both would operate alongside Casemiro in midfield.
