Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham all secured vital victories on Saturday as they battle to finish inside the top four places in the Premier League.

Providing Arsenal and Manchester City finish in the top two places, only two of the above three teams can automatically qualify for the Champions League next season - although there is a scenario in which United can finish further down and still qualify via winning the Europa League.

Erik ten Hag's side produced a dominant display to defeat Everton 2-0 at lunchtime, with Newcastle winning 2-1 away at Brentford later in the day.

Tottenham, meanwhile, completed the trio of positive results with a controversial 2-1 victory over Brighton, where VAR intervened on several occasions.
