Manchester United fans think that Mason Mount's farewell message to Chelsea proves that he was desperate to leave Stamford Bridge.

The inevitable was all but confirmed on Tuesday evening when the beginning of the end of the Mount transfer saga was kicked off as he confirmed he was leaving Stamford Bridge.

Having appeared to say goodbye to the ground after the final day of last season, Mount this time took to social media to say farewell to the fans.

The midfielder said that the supporters 'deserved more than a written statement,' and that he was 'grateful' for their support over the years.

He is now expected to be officially unveiled as a United player in the coming days potentially as early as Wednesday, with the transfer already agreed.

Erik ten Hag's side are expected to pay £55 million plus a further £5 million in add ons for the 24-year-old who only had one year left on his deal.

Supporters of United have been doing the usual transfer sleuthing that usually leads to flights being tracked but this time on the midfielder's video message.

They believe that his hair gives away that the farewell was recorded weeks ago and shows that he was desperate for the moment to come to post it.

The Chelsea academy product had dyed his hair earlier in the summer as it was in the video but was recently spotted having changed it back.

He was at United's Carrington training ground for his medical back having the brown hair that fans have seen him with most often.

"How long has Mason Mount had this farewell video saved in his drafts?", questioned one fan, "Same bleached blonde hair style he had a month ago while pictures in Manchester today show he’s since gone back to his natural brown!"

"Mount had always wanted to leave. The hair difference shows he had this message in draft all along. He’s a proper snake," said one Chelsea fan.

Another added: "Call me cr*zy but I think Mason Mount already recorded this video months ago. His hair is black now and has been for weeks."

"Judging by the blonde hair in his goodbye video for Chelsea fans, it seems Mount already had it pre-recorded. Our new boy was desperate to join the biggest club in English football," replied a fourth.

And another commented: "This guy knew for tiiiime that he was leaving."
