Richard Keys believes Manchester United are currently playing with '10 men' despite their fine form under Erik ten Hag.

United ran out 3-0 winners over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon thanks to a Marcus Rashford brace and Jadon Sancho's second goal in three Premier League games.

The Red Devils find themselves five points behind league leaders Arsenal after only losing one game since the World Cup break, ironically away to the Gunners last month.

On top of that, United are looking to win their first piece of silverware in six years next Sunday when they take on Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Things are looking positive for the first time in a long time on the red side of Manchester. BeIN SPORTS anchor Keys thinks they could hit another level with one tweak.

He took aim at Wout Weghorst's role since arriving on loan from Burnley last month. Weghorst has scored one goal in nine appearances, but you can't fault his commitment to the team.

The Netherlands international has recently dropped into a midfield role to allow Rashford to strut his stuff further up the pitch. Ten Hag's trust in the player is clear, starting every game since returning to England.

Despite all that, Keys isn't having it. "You’re playing with ten men most weeks if he’s in," he vented.

"I mean, he doesn’t do enough to justify a starting place, does he? Come on, let’s be honest!"

United opted to sign Weghorst following Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive departure. They were linked with a slew of names, including Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata, before settling on the 30-year-old.

Ten Hag admitted he always intended to use Weghorst as a striker, with his recent role as a number 10 a spur of the moment decision.

The Dutch coach said: "The last years he was actually only playing as a striker, but I know from a very long history he can play there.

"He did before. In a certain role, I think he can act very well there and we have seen that. I think it was quite successful, not only for him but I think he enjoyed it there.

"I think he let others play better and that’s also what he’s doing as a striker. He lets other teammates score."
