Man United fans fume after having to watch final stages of Chelsea game with stewards blocking view

Some Manchester United fans were left fuming after stewards blocked their view during the 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag's side ran out comfortable winners courtesy of goals from Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in a victory which secured Champions League football next season.

The only major downside for the Red Devils was a serious ankle injury suffered by Antony, who could well be ruled out of the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

United fans were criticised for the "limbs" created when Fernandes rolled in the third from the spot but a slew of supporters have been left livid by the placement of stewards at Old Trafford.

A clip doing the rounds on social media, with the caption, "For the last 20 minutes this was the view if you were on the front row at Old Trafford," featured stewards stood pitchside facing the pitch.

One fan appeared to be remonstrating over the obstructed view just after Fernandes scored to make it 3-0.

The stewards stood on a wall did sit themselves down at the end of the clip and appeared to be doing this largely during break in plays such as injuries or substitutions.

But those present said it was a regular occurrence throughout the game and ruined the experience for them.

Season ticket holder @lucys_portraits said United's photographer also had a hard time doing his job because of the stewards and a cameraman nearly fell over the security.

An angry supporter said: "Needs reporting to the league that. You can’t be charging people a ticket and then blocking their view like that.

A second agreed: "A joke. They need to stay sat down!!!"

Another fan commented: "I was sat right behind you was doing my head in."

A fourth vented: "That’s a disgrace, not their fault but whoever gave that instruction to stand up needs sacking."

A fifth user weighed in: "I assume it was to stop a pitch invasion. Kinda sucks though, costs a fortune to watch United."

A final person fumed: "Ridiculous. They could easily be sitting down and it would make no difference. Why are people so extra. People spending their hard earned money for this bs. Pathetic. @ManUtd."
