Manchester United are preparing an audacious two-player swap deal for AC Milan star Theo Hernandez, according to stunning reports.

Erik ten Hag laid down the early foundation for his United reign with the signings of former Ajax duo Antony and Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen.

The Red Devils have hit fine form since the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and are unbeaten in their last eight matches across all competitions.

Wout Weghorst also arrived at Old Trafford in the January window on loan from Burnley after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from United.

United manager Ten Hag is keen to build on his squad depth in the summer window and Hernandez has emerged as a potential target for United.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, the Red Devils are considering a ‘high-profile swap deal’ featuring two of their players for the 25-year-old Milan left-back.

The publication reports that Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial could both be included in an offer to tempt Milan into parting ways with Hernandez.

Martial, who was loaned out to Sevilla last season, returned to the United first-team under Ten Hag and has regularly featured at Old Trafford this season.

However, Martial’s consistency and proneness to injury could lead to Ten Hag hunting for a new striking option at the end of the season.

United star Dalot impressed under Ten Hag this season, but the Portugal full-back suffered a hamstring injury during the World Cup.

The 23-year-old Portuguese right-back could struggle to establish himself as a regular starter again thanks to a resurgent Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Martial and Dalot are out of contract with United in 2024, with both players’ long-term futures at Old Trafford uncertain.

CalcioMercatoWeb claims that United are still to ‘assess’ if Martial and Dalot fit into the club’s plans and if paying their salaries is still ‘sustainable.’

Milan are believed to value Hernandez, who was signed from Real Madrid in 2019, at around €60m and who is under contract until 2026.

It is believed that United’s two-player proposal could ‘convince’ Milan technical director Paolo Maldini and director of football Frederic Massara to sanction a deal for Hernandez.
