Erik ten Hag told to leave Manchester United after Brentford horror show

Erik ten Hag told to leave Manchester United after Brentford horror show

United produced a dismal performance against Brentford on Saturday evening

Manchester United have been advised to tell Erik ten Hag to leave the club after the horror show his side produced against Brentford on Saturday evening.

Ten Hag’s men were second best from the get go under the scorching heat at the Gtech Community Stadium. Josh Dasilva put Thomas Frank’s side ahead when his tame effort was fumbled into the net by United keeper David de Gea

Mathias Jensen then doubled the Bees’ lead after forcing an error from former Brentford man Christian Eriksen inside the United box.

It was 3-0 when Ben Mee headed in at the far post, and United found themselves 4-0 down when Bryan Mbeumo finished off a stellar counter attack.

Ten Hag’s team did manage to keep a clean sheet in the second half but failed to muster a real chance to reduce the deficit, the game ended 4-0 and United are now bottom of the Premier League

According to former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor, he would tell Ten Hag to “just pack up” if he was a member of the United board.

He said on talkSPORT: “This is not Manchester United. If I was them now after this game I’d be thinking, ‘You know what, Ten Hag, just pack up’.

“He’s had pre-season and they have started the season as a shambles, they’re like strangers on the pitch.”

Agbonlahor then branded United’s performance as “amateur”.

He added: “They’re just not good enough, [David] De Gea must know that [Christian] Eriksen has got a man behind him, use your brain and you don’t give it to him, Man City wouldn’t even give it to Rodri in that position. Amateur from Manchester United.”

The former England international believes that the club are not what they used to be, and that he expected them to lose.

Agbonlahor said: “They’re not United they’re divided, none of them are working for each other. Look at them, they’re like strangers on the pitch.

“[Lisandro] Martinez at centre back, he’s meant to be the centre-back to come in and help them, he looks lost in the Premier League.”

He continued: “I’ve been hammering United and people are saying I’ve got an agenda against Manchester United – no, I’m speaking facts that real Manchester United fans will agree with. You’re just not the same Manchester United that you used to be.

“These results have been coming. Last week you lost and it wasn’t shocking, and this isn’t a shock to me. I knew Brentford would win, this is not a shock to me.”

Ten Hag now has to pick his players up off the floor as they prepare for a huge game against arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford next Monday.
