A fan asked legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to come back and manage the club as he stood outside Old Trafford. Here's that moment below.

Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, Ferguson was handed a new consultancy role at United by chief executive Richard Arnold.

The 80-year-old will work with the club's board of advisors – Richard Arnold, former chief executive David Gill, former United captain Bryan Robson and football director John Murtough – in the coming months, according to The Mail.

Ferguson, who retired in 2013 after 26 trophy-laden years at the club, has regularly attended home games at Old Trafford since leaving the hot seat.

And he was once again present for their opening day defeat against Brighton.

The former Aberdeen boss has been spotted around Old Trafford of late and recently, Ferguson was about to get into a car when one United fan asked him to make a return.

The video, posted by TikTok user kinghamza939, shows the fan saying: "Oh my god, he's here! Fergie! Fergie! Come back and manage us! We need you!"

After a few laughs from the crowd, Ferguson smiles and continues to stare at the black BMW.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford and according to The Mirror, Ferguson has had a 'series' of meetings with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner over cups of tea in their respective homes.

Ronaldo, who believes he has three or four years left at the highest level, wants to play in the Champions League for the remainder of his career.
