Manchester United are taking on Sevilla in the Europa League quarter final

Casemiro’s reaction to David de Gea hugging Ivan Rakitic prior to Manchester United’s Europa League clash against Sevilla has got fans talking.

On Thursday night, United looked to get the better of Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final first-leg tie at Old Trafford.

United made an incredibly fast start as two goals in the space of seven minutes by January signing Marcel Sabitzer gave Erik ten Hag’s men a 2-0 lead after 21 minutes.

However, it was what Casemiro did prior to kick-off that got United fans talking.

As the players lined up in the tunnel ahead of kick-off, De Gea was seen hugging Sevilla player Rakitic, Casemiro’s face was a picture as he watched on looking rather unimpressed.

However, this was not the first time Casemiro has reacted to De Gea hugging an opposition player.

The goalkeeper was captured hugging Sergio Busquets before United’s Europa League play-off clash against Barcelona, which fans have now picked up on as they took to social media to react to Casemiro’s reaction.

One said: “Casemiro watching De Gea hug former Barcelona rivals is a mood.”

Another tweeted: “Don't show that photo to Roy Keane.”

A third fan added: “Doesn’t hate Rakitic that much, judging by the expression in comparison to Sergio.”

Someone else wrote: “It's not even like Rakatic is Spanish what is this relationship.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Why is he even hugging Rakitic? Busquet was once his national teammate. Rakitic's makes no sense.”

Another United fan added: “Gotta love this guy.”

After their blistering start to the match, Sevilla threatened to get back into the match just before half time but De Gea produced a stunning save to deny Tanguy Nianzou.

If United were to take a lead to Spain next week for the second leg, they will be in pole position to seal a place in the semi-final of the competition.

Ten Hag’s men could be up against either Juventus or Sporting Lisbon in the next round.
