Casemiro has previously explained why he wears the wrong name on the back of his shirt.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who has spent four years at Manchester United after joining from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, was given a heartfelt farewell on Sunday as he waved goodbye to the Old Trafford faithful for the final time.
It was a difficult afternoon for the Brazilian. In fact, after expressing his gratitude after United's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, he was due to attend a farewell press conference but was 'too emotional’ to take part, according to Samuel Luckhurst.
He did, however, take to Instagram after the final whistle.

"There are places we pass through in life and there are places that become part of who we are," he wrote. "Manchester will forever be my home. To the city, the club, and every supporter, my sincerest thank you."
"These past four years have been unforgettable, filled with moments my family and I will carry with us for the rest of our lives. There simply aren’t enough words to describe the happiness and warmth we’ve felt here."
Casemiro added: "Thank you for every cheer, every memory, and for making us feel at home from the very first day. Forever a Red Devil."

Casemiro's name is purposefully spelt wrong on the back of his shirt
For the majority of his career, Casemiro's name has been spelt wrong on his shirt, but why? It turns out the Brazilian is superstitious.
"So the thing is, my name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, with an 'I' there," he explained to Football Focus.
"I remember that I played a game for Sao Paulo and the club got my name wrong. They wrote it with an 'E'. I played really well in that game and as I'm a superstitious person, I said to them, 'Just leave it like that, as things are going well!'
"So the name stuck, but my name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro. It was a mistake made in one game, the name stuck and I said, 'No need to change it, leave it as it is'".
Casemiro progressed through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo and made his senior debut in 2010. He went on to score 11 goals in 111 games before joining Real Madrid in 2013. The rest, as they say, is history.
