'Bruno Fernandes - the biggest cheat in football' compilation emerges after scathing criticism

Bruno Fernandes was heavily criticised after Manchester United’s 7-0 defeat by Liverpool

A compilation titled ‘Bruno Fernandes - the biggest cheat in football’ has emerged on the back of Manchester United’s defeat by Liverpool.

Las Sunday, Erik ten Hag’s men were absolutely thrashed by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as goals from Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Roberto Firmino sealed a historic 7-0 win.

Although many United players were criticised on the back of their dismal performance, Fernandes got the brunt of the criticism.

Fans and former players were not happy with Fernandes’ actions during the match.

In one incident, Gary Neville branded the midfielder as ‘embarrassing’ after he fell to the ground holding his face despite contact being made with his chest.

Now, a compilation of Fernandes’ ‘dark arts’ has emerged on social media.

The video highlighted multiple occasions where the midfielder seemed to go to ground after minimal contact.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the United vs Liverpool match, Neville said: “The second half was an absolute disgrace. I'll start with the captain because you are the captain of the football club.

“Bruno Fernandes can wind you up sometimes because of the way he is, but that was appalling in the second half.”

There have been calls for Ten Hag to drop Fernandes as captain after the match, however, the Dutchman defended his man.

Ten Hag said: “I think he is playing a brilliant season and he has played a big role in us being where we are. Everyone makes mistakes and we learn. I have to learn and he will as well.

“No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. He is intelligent. I'm really pleased he is our player and he is captain when Harry (Maguire) is not playing.”

United are back in action on Thursday as they take on Real Betis in the Europa League round of 16.
