Pep Guardiola accidentally confirmed he has a burner Twitter account after Champions League final win

Pep Guardiola accidentally confirmed he has a burner Twitter account after Champions League final win

Pep Guardiola made a huge admission in a post-match interview after Manchester City won the Champions League for the first time.

Pep Guardiola appeared to accidentally confirm he has a burner Twitter account after guiding Manchester City to their first Champions League triumph and a historic treble.

After City pipped Arsenal to claim a third Premier League in a row, they saw off rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley before defeating Inter Milan by a single goal in a tense Istanbul final.

Rodri popped up with the emphatic winner in the 68th minute to crown City champions of Europe and give Guardiola a third Champions League winners medal - and a first since 2011.

Guardiola was on fine form in various interviews amid the wild celebrations at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium and joined the brilliantly entertaining CBS Sports 'Golazo' team for a chat.

But while talking to host Kate Abdo and pundits Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Peter Schmeichel and Micah Richards, Guardiola admitted he enjoys watching clips of the show on Twitter.

He revealed: "It's the funniest show in the Champions League this season. On Twitter I follow sometimes some moments!"

Richards asked Guardiola to select his favourite moment from CBS' coverage and he praised Abdo for her introductions and constant destroying of the former City defender.

But in saying that he watches the videos, Guardiola pretty much confirmed reports stating that he is active in a secret social media account.

The Athletic were the source of the story, which said he was indeed active online. He previously mentioned the "Fraudiola" phrase in a press conference and it's unlikely he would have heard that unless he was scrolling on Twitter.

There is an official Twitter account called @PepTeam, which follows a total of 27 accounts - including the likes of Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne and Mikel Arteta.

The page typically only retweets posts from City, with the occasional tweet in between.
