Everything you need to know about Man City vs Crystal Palace

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City welcome an in-form Crystal Palace side to the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

City fans will be happy with their side’s defence of the title so far, with Pep Guardiola's men picking up 7 points from a possible 9 across their first three fixtures.

Although they had to come behind from a two goal deficit to draw with Newcastle and looked shaky at times, City still look like favourites to win the league and the summer additions of Haaland, Alvarez and Phillips have added stacks of talent to a team already filled with it.

Patrick Viera will be impressed with how his Crystal Palace team have started the season, despite losing 2-0 to his former side Arsenal on the opening day.

Since then, they have gone on to beat Aston Villa and take points from Liverpool at Anfield, the latter being something many teams struggle to do.

Here is everything you need to know about this afternoon’s clash between the two sides.

Unfortunately for Pep, Kalvin Phillips and Luke Mbete both picked up injuries in Wednesday night’s mid-season friendly against Barcelona but the former Leeds midfielder may still be in contention today.

Aymeric Laporte is still out with a knee injury and Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake will both be assessed ahead of kick-off.

There are no new injuries for the visitors but veterans James McArthur, James Tomkins and Jack Butland all remain sidelined.
