Manchester City have travelled to Catalunya to take on Xavi Hernandez's Barcelona in charity friendly.

The game - taking place at the Camp Nou - is all in aid of former Barça goalkeeper and coach, Juan Carlos Unzué, who was diagnosed with ALS just two years ago.

All proceeds from the event will go to the fantastic Luzón Foundation, an organisation researching treatment against this horrible disease.

This particular game was supposed to take place at the start of last season, but the Covid-19 pandemic delayed proceedings by a year.

At St James' Park, the Blues came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 and maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Ilkay Gundogan gave City an early lead, but goals from Miguel Almirón, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier fired the Magpies into a commanding lead.

However, two quick-fire goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva ensured Guardiola's side left the North-East with at least a point.

They take on Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend, so some of City's star names will likely be rested for this one.

Guardiola will want to get minutes into the legs of various players who haven't featured as heavily in the opening three games and get them completely up to speed.

That includes the likes of Kalvin Phillips, John Stones and Julian Alvarez.

Ahead of kick-off, Guardiola and Xavi have named their respective line-ups for this evening.
