Man City fans are furious with 'boring' player despite beating Borussia Dortmund

Man City fans are furious with 'boring' player despite beating Borussia Dortmund

"Why is it players can play like complete garbage and people will just say give them time?"

Manchester City fans have slammed Jack Grealish for his poor performance in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's side weren't at their best against the German giants, with Jude Bellingham giving Dortmund the lead midway through the second half.

John Stones popped up with an absolute rocket for his first goal since February to give City hope in the 80th minute.

Four minutes later, Erling Haaland secured all three points in acrobatic and dramatic fashion.

Despite that, some supporters are still angry with Grealish's display.

It was the 27-year-old's third start of the campaign after returning from an injury last week and he looked off the pace.

Nothing was coming off for Grealish out wide and Thomas Meunier defended admirably. In fact, City failed to register a shot on target until Stones' speculative effort.

Guardiola had seen enough after 59 minutes and replaced Grealish with Phil Foden.

The England international joined City from Aston Villa for a club-record £100 million in 2021 but is yet to live up to that price tag.

City won the Premier League last season and Grealish admitted he was getting used life at the Etihad Stadium.

It's year two now however and many are starting to lose patience.

One person tweeted: "Grealish is starting to look like a really bad signing..."

Another commented: "Jack Grealish is so boring to watch. My stress levels keep increasing when he gets the ball."

A third tweeted: "He is just not good enough for City, simple as."

While someone put: "Safe to say he shouldn't be near this team for a while."

Foden ended up offering more of a threat in attack and City made it two wins from two in Group G.

The 22-year-old squared up to England teammate Bellingham near the end of the game and that saw tempers flare up on the touchline.

Guardiola was booked by referee Daniele Orsato at full-time, and responded by hugging the official.
