Manchester City face FC Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium as they look to put themselves in a strong position in Champions League Group G.

Pep Guardiola’s side opened their Champions League campaign with a routine 4-0 win away at Sevilla.

They followed this up with a thrilling 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, a result that sits them comfortably at the top of Group G with six points taken out of the six available.

The victory came thanks to a late winner from rampant Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who will be looking to score for the 9th consecutive game for the Blues, after scoring a sensational hat trick against bitter local rivals Manchester United.

The 22-year-old currently sits top of the Champions League goalscoring charts with 3 goals, alongside Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.

Man City’s opponents for the night come into the game with 1 point taken so far and 0 goals scored, having drawn 0-0 with Sevilla and suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Dortmund.

It will be no easy task but the Danish side will be hoping to keep their Champions League hopes alive with a win over Guardiola’s side.

Manchester City vs Copenhagen team news

Guardiola will be without a number of key players for their fixture with Copenhagen. Kyle Walker was forced off with an injury against Manchester United so he looks set to miss out.

Spanish midfielder Rodri and English international John Stones both missed the tie against Erik Ten Hag’s side and both look set to be omitted from the squad once again.

Summer signing Kalvin Phillips is a long-term absentee after having surgery on his shoulder, meaning Ilkay Gundogan is set to keep his role in the heart of midfield for the Blues.

Akinkunmi Amoo and Mamoudou Karamoko are the only absentees for the visitors.
