Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti went viral for his persistence in getting a handshake from Max Allegri after his side destroyed Juventus 5-1.

The Naples outfit went 10 points clear at the top of the table after a stunning win at the the San Paolo. Victor Osimhen hit a brace and registered an assist, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Amir Rrahmani and Elif Elmas were all on target.

Angel di Maria struck for Juve but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation. The Bianconeri had won eight games in a row and kept a clean sheet in every one prior to the Friday night clash but conceded five in the first time since 1993.

Allegri didn't want to stick around after the final whistle was blown and tried to make a quick exit down the tunnel.

However, opposite number Spalletti was determined to get his handshake and proceeded to chase Allegri as he walked away.

He had his hand extended in some unbelievably awkward yet beautifully comedic scenes.

Eventually the former Inter Milan and Roma boss got his handshake and had a little brush on the face from Allegri.

Well clear of AC Milan and Juventus, Napoli look good value to win their first Scudetto since Diego Maradona delivered the league title in 1990.

Spalletti, 63, is one of the biggest characters in Italian football and regularly offers up hilarity. In the summer, he put on a Pornhub hat given to him by fans at an open training session.

He had the bucket hat passed to him from a fan at the training camp at Castel di Sangro.

It appeared to be a prank and it worked a treat as there was Spalletti taking pictures and signing with an adult website's logo on a hat for a few seconds before passing it back.
