Jurgen Klopp is ‘waiting’ for the chance to sign Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde and according to Spanish newspaper Nacional (via football365), the German is 'obsessed' the midfielder.

Valverde has made 148 appearances since making his debut in 2017, but due to the immense amount of talent at the club, the 24 year-old has never been a guaranteed starter in Madrid.

The recent signing of Aurelin Tchouameni has put even more doubt onto Valverde’s future playing time and the Reds could be set to capitalise on this.

Liverpool have first-hand experience of Valverde’s ability, as he assisted Vinicius Junior’s Champions League winning goal in May earlier this year.

Klopp will most likely have taken into account the versatility of the Uruguayan, who can play in a number of positions if needed.

The Liverpool manager has been known to like a player that can play across the park, with players such as James Milner having been utilised all across the pitch by the German.

The current Liverpool midfield includes Thiago, Fabinho and Henderson, who have been ever present in the club's recent success.

But those three are getting older, and Klopp could be looking to bring in some fresh legs in the near future.

Jude Bellingham has also been a name that has been continuously linked with a move to Anfield and it would come as no surprise to see him sporting the red kit of Liverpool in the next few years.

The Reds are expected to make a move for the English international, who is valued at around £100 million, next summer.
