'Liverpool Are Very Interested' - Fabrizio Romano Confirms Klopp's Interest In 19-Year-Old Superstar

Liverpool want to sign Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool are interested in signing in Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham, and there appears to be a good chance of him leaving the German side next summer.

Speculation surrounding Bellingham’s future has been poignant all transfer window, with Liverpool probably the most heavily involved club.

But it seems any move is unlikely to occur this transfer window as Dortmund are hesitant to let two superstars go in such a short space of time, with Haaland already moving to City.

Well-respected Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has confirmed in his column for Caught Offside that the Red’s have recently contacted Dortmund over the potential of a move for the 19 year old superstar.

Romano wrote “Liverpool explored the possibility in mid-June to sign Jude Bellingham."

"There was not even a negotiation because Borussia Dortmund immediately explained that Jude is not for sale this summer"

“I think there are good possibilities for his sale in the summer of 2023 but it will depend on the offers. So far the player himself has not yet expressed any preference, it will take time.

“Certainly Liverpool are very interested, but will not be alone in a race that will include top clubs from Spain and England as well.”

With Milner, Henderson and Thiago all already in their 30s, and Fabinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain set to join them in the next year, Liverpool’s need for a rebuild in midfield is undeniably apparent.

Still a teenager, Bellingham would be the perfect fit and unlike most players his age, he is not short of experience at the top level. He has already played 92 matches for Borussia Dortmund’s first team and 15 for England at senior level.

In addition, Birmingham City retired his shirt whilst he was 17 year-old after his move to Germany was confirmed, further emphasising the midfielder’s quality.

The signing of Bellingham next summer would undoubtedly cost Liverpool a pretty penny, and most likely rules out the rumoured moves of Sporting Lisbon star Matheus Nunes and Aston Villa youngster Chukwuemeka this summer.
