Liverpool could repeat a Jurgen Klopp masterstroke should they complete a deal for Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka.
Liverpool have endured a difficult season. This time last year Klopp’s men were on course for a quadruple.
However, this term the Reds are out of all three cup competitions and are languishing in sixth in the Premier League, some seven points adrift of the top four.

In turn, the Merseyside club have been tipped for a massive summer rebuild. Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Joško Gvardiol have all been linked.
Meanwhile, Ndicka has been linked with Liverpool, as well as Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Indeed, the 23-year-old will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, having chosen not to renew his contract with Frankfurt.
Should Liverpool sign the Frenchman, they could be repeating a previous transfer masterstroke.
Klopp to repeat Matip masterstroke with Ndicka
There are similarities between Ndicka's situation and that of Joel Matip when the Cameroonian signed for Liverpool back in 2016.

Both players have starred in the Bundesliga, with Matip having joined the Reds after his contract expired at Schalke.
Ironically, should Ndicka sign for Liverpool it could spell the end of Matip’s career at the club.
Indeed, Football Insider have linked Matip to a £15million summer exit from Anfield, with the player's contract set to expire in June 2024.
Last week, the Athletic’s James Pearce claimed in a Q&A: “Matip and Jota have not been put up for sale. Matip is down to his final year this summer and if he wanted to leave and LFC got a suitable offer he could leave but he’s certainly not being pushed towards the door.”
