Liverpool star Luis Diaz has been spotted in a leg brace in the city centre as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

The Colombian winger suffered the injury during Liverpool's 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on October 9.

He was tackled by Thomas Partey, before leaving the pitch on 42 minutes. Diaz later exited the Emirates Stadium on crutches, with Reds fans fearing the worst over the extent of his injury.

It was a big blow to Liverpool, with Diaz now the undisputed first-choice starter on the left side of attack following Sadio Mane's departure to Bayern Munich.

In an Instagram message, the 23-year-old promised he will "come back stronger" from the injury, which is set to rule him out until at least after the World Cup.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise after Diaz's performance in last season's FA Cup final, stating: "What a player. He's outstanding.

"He fits like a glove to our football, and that's really, really special."

Since Diaz was ruled out of action, Liverpool have also lost Diogo Jota until after the World Cup. The Portuguese star went down in the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Manchester City on October 15.

Now, Reds fans have been given an update on the progress of Diaz - courtesy of a city centre photo.

Diaz has been out and about in the centre of Liverpool, and a Twitter post showing the winger standing for a photo with a fan gives a small insight into his recovery.

After the Colombian suffered the injury, it was reported that he would not need surgery, with a timeframe of around six to eight weeks expected before he could resume playing.

With Jota's injury in mind, and the January transfer window still over two months away, Reds fans will hope Diaz can get back to action before the New Year.

Liverpool's post-World Cup fixture schedule begins on Boxing Day, when they travel to Aston Villa, before hosting Leicester on December 30.

In January, Klopp's side have three games scheduled. But they could play up to four FA Cup ties, with replays now reintroduced for the third and fourth rounds for this season. They could also play three Carabao Cup ties in the month, if they reach the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
