Liverpool considering stunning move for Chelsea star, Steven Gerrard is a "massive fan"

Liverpool considering stunning move for Chelsea star, Steven Gerrard is a "massive fan"

The Chelsea man is reportedly on Liverpool's watchlist.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in bringing Mason Mount to Anfield from Chelsea.

Mount, 23, has a contract with Graham Potter's side for the next 18 months but there is "no sign of a breakthrough" in new contract talks, according to The Guardian.

The report continues to discuss the situation and states that talks are not expected to resume until the new year, which is understandable considering Mount has been included in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad.

Mount has played some part of every game under Potter so far and has four assists in six Champions League games this season.

The report adds that Juventus are also monitoring the midfielder's situation despite a disappointing season thus far.

It is also said that Chelsea's owners have no interest in letting Mount leave and he has been "built up as a future Chelsea captain."

It would be quite the move from Mount to switch blue for red and considering how loved he is at Stamford Bridge, it could be a fairly controversial move.

Gerrard: "I'm a massive fan of Mason"

During his time as boss of Aston Villa, Steven Gerrard said he was a "massive" fan of Mount and believes he is a great talent for England.

Gerrard said: "I’ve watched his progress – of course I have."

"He’s a big talent for the country. I’m a massive fan of Mason.

"He plays with a smile on his face. He can create, he can score and he’s already a European Cup winner so I don’t think he needs the likes of myself to big him up or praise him."
