Liverpool target Konrad Laimer has been made available to sign in January, according to a fresh report.

Liverpool have endured a dreadful start to the season. The Reds are currently languishing in sixth place, some seven points from Tottenham in the final Champions League place.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s typically industrious midfield has looked particularly old and off the pace.

In turn, the Reds have been linked to a number of midfielders across Europe as Klopp attempts to revitalise his stuttering side.

Laimer to Liverpool

Liverpool are interested in signing Laimer according to TeamTalk, while they have also been listed as a “dark horse” in the pursuit of Youri Tielemans.

Laimer is out of contract at Leipzig at the end of the season and the Bundesliga club are reportedly keen to sell him in January for a fee rather lose him for free next summer.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Team Talk: “One name very much in contention is Konrad Laimer.

“The Austrian saw a move to Bayern Munich fall through, but now he very much has his options open. He is out of contract in the summer and RB Leipzig are ready to do business.

“He has just returned from injury and will be fully fit for the season re-start, and Liverpool do like him.”

Laimer has been a key player for Leipzig since 2017, when he joined the Bundesliga club from sister club RB Salzburg.

Tielemans to Liverpool?

Bailey added that Liverpool had also considered bringing in Tielemans, though faced stiff competition for his signature from league leaders Arsenal.

On the Belgian midfielder, the Journalist said: “The problem with Tielemans is two-fold at the moment, in that the main problem for January is that Leicester do not want to sell and that is not a huge shock given their excellent run of form.

“It seems Leicester would be willing to let him leave in the summer on a free instead and when he is available, Arsenal like him a lot and have done a great deal of work on him.”
