Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham has been the centre of repeated questions over his future throughout the summer, and Jurgen Klopp has finally spoken on the situation.

Liverpool took care of their main transfer business last month when they completed deals for Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

However, that has not stopped conjecture raging about the possibility of Bellingham arriving at Anfield.

There is no doubt that Liverpool are huge admirers of the Borussia Dortmund superstar, but they will certainly not be the only club on this list.

However Bellingham is said to have a strong relationship with current reds Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander Arnold from their time in the England camp together.

Unfortunately for the Merseyside club, the 19 year-old went on record in May stating his intentions to play the upcoming season in Germany with Dortmund.

He knows the club are highly unlikely to offload him in the same window that they have also lost Haaland.

Klopp was recently asked whether Liverpool are set to sign a midfielder before the window closes and he replied saying:

'No. I can say that. I don't think something will happen in midfield, but you never know. If somebody comes to you and says 'I want to go'...

‘Nobody came to me but if that happens then we have to talk. But if the situation stays like it is, then tell me why (I should sign someone)?'

'I do not understand. People told me about this discussion but the last thing that would have crossed my mind is that we have to do this (sign a midfielder).’

When being quizzed on his club’s summer intentions, Klopp was asked about the speculation surrounding Bellingham and he addressed these rumours saying:

'He's not on the market, so that's the first problem with that player. Well, the only problem with that player!’

The German manager is clearly very happy with the midfielders he already has at his disposal and his Liverpool side will begin their pre-season preparations this week in Bangkok.
