Dominik Szoboszlai reveals important advice Erling Haaland gave him after Liverpool move

New Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed the important advice given to him by Erling Haaland after his transfer to Anfield was completed.

The Hungary international became Liverpool's second signing of the summer on Sunday, and will wear the number eight shirt previously adorned by Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool triggered the £60 million release clause contained within Szoboszlai's RB Leipzig contract in order to complete the move. He has signed a long-term contract with the club.

The 22-year-old is another key addition to manager Jurgen Klopp's squad, and the German boss told the club's official website: "Everything about this [signing] is good news and I am very grateful to everyone at the club who has contributed to making it happen.

"This is a signing for our present and also for our future and the work that has gone into it could not be more appreciated."

While reacting to his move, Szoboszlai revealed that Manchester City star Haaland gave him about a move to the Premier League, with the pair having played together at RB Salzburg.

Szoboszlai reveals Haaland advice

Speaking to Hungarian outlet Nemzeti Sport (quotes via Liverpool Echo), he said: "We've talked. So much so that Haaland has also advised on finding real estate, and it could very well be that we become neighbours.

"I learned from him that several players live halfway between Manchester and Liverpool in a quiet area where privacy can be preserved, and on Monday I will see what he was talking about, I am very curious.

"And of course, putting our friendship aside during the Liverpool vs Manchester City matches, it will surely be a fantastic experience to play against each other."

Szoboszlai is set to become the third Hungarian player to make a competitive appearance for Liverpool, after goalkeepers Adam Bogdan and Istvan Kozma.

Another Hungarian player to have been contracted to the Reds is goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi. He did not play for Liverpool, but starred alongside Szoboszlai at Leipzig.

And Liverpool's new number eight explained: "I've spoken to him before and he knows what our relationship is like.

"He was there in Leipzig when I got there, I became a player for the club and I could count on his support from the very first moment."
