The second week of the Champions League returns with Eredivisie champions Ajax making the trip to Merseyside to face Liverpool, with both sides looking for a result to strengthen their positions in group A.

The first round of Europe’s elite competition saw a lacklustre Liverpool side fall to a 4-1 defeat against Italian side Napoli.

A sorry first half display saw the Liverpudlians 3-0 down at the break, with many of their defenders receiving harsh backlash from fans and pundits due to their poor performances.

Life in the Premier League hasn’t started much better for the Reds either, as they have only won two games out of their first six, leaving them in 7th place.

Ajax on the other hand couldn’t have hoped for a better start to their Champions League campaign.

The Dutch side tore apart Rangers, with goals from Alvarez, Berghuis, Kudus and Bergwijn helping them to a 4-0 win that leaves them top of Group A after the first round.

Although a trip to Anfield undoubtedly provides a tougher test than their last encounter in Europe, the Netherlands club will head into tonight’s game with confidence, especially considering the Red’s downturn in form.

Liverpool and Ajax have only faced off four times before in Europe, with their most recent encounters coming two years ago in Group D, with the Merseyside club winning both games 1-0.

However, both sides boast an array of attacking talent, so neutrals will hope this evening’s clash will produce more goals than the last time these two sides met.

Is Liverpool vs Ajax on TV? Channel and live stream

Liverpool vs Ajax will be available to watch on BT Sport 2 for all UK viewers and can also be live streamed on the BT Sport app or website. Pre-match coverage of the game will start at 7pm BST.

What time does Liverpool vs Ajax kick-off?

Tonight’s match will kick off at 8pm BST in front of a packed Anfield crowd, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping the roaring Liverpudlian supporters can be their twelfth man.
