Sergio Aguero might just have leaked Lionel Messi's next club after he discloses private conversation

Sergio Aguero has revealed the private chat he's had with best friend Lionel Messi.

Sergio Aguero might just have leaked Lionel Messi's next club after disclosing a private chat between the pair.

Aguero has been best friends with Messi ever since they played for Argentina's youth sides and the duo are in constant communication.

Now retired from the game, Aguero constantly leaps to the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's defence in the event that he is criticised.

But Manchester City's record goalscorer may well have spoiled Messi's future plans in a recent interview.

The 35-year-old is said to be stalling on a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and there has been rumours of his father and agent Jorge negotiating a sensational return to Barcelona.

However, Aguero claims the World Cup winner is thinking about heading back to his boyhood club Newell's in an emotional switch.

"He is seriously considering the possibility of playing for Newell's," Aguero told UOL.

Former Argentina and Liverpool star Maxi Rodriguez had to step in before Aguero revealed too much, saying: "Kun is Kun. He can't keep quiet. We will see.

"It is hard to talk about this because then a giant ball of rumours is made. Let's wait and see what happens. We will not get ahead of the facts."

Rodriguez came through the ranks at Newell's and had three separate spells with the Rosario outfit, ending his career with them in 2021.

He is slated to have a testimonial on 16 June at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa and it's being reported that Messi is expected to play in the fixture.

Newell's hope it will effectively serve as a trial for Messi and they hope he will put pen to paper on a deal that will see him finally represent their first-team.

According to Ole, a young Messi scored 234 goals in 176 games for Newell's between the years 1994 and 1999 and was also a ballboy for the club.

He then joined Barcelona as a 13-year-old after signing his first contract on a napkin and the rest is history.

After a disappointing first season at PSG, Messi has 16 goals and 17 assists in all competitions this season. His contract is due to expire in June.
