Leeds United Supporters Named The Most Passionate Fans In The Premier League

These rankings are sure to divide opinion...

Leeds United supporters have been named as the most passionate fanbase in the Premier League, in new rankings that are guaranteed to divide opinion.

The Yorkshire club have struggled for consistency this season under Marcelo Bielsa but remain fiercely backed by their home support at Elland Road.

Football website 1sports1 have now named the club’s fans as the best the league has to offer.

Newcastle United take second place in the rankings. Like Leeds, Newcastle have unrivalled support in their city and the club’s fans are known for their loyal following home and away.

While the club is currently struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table, the mood around St James’ Park has been lifted this season with the club no longer under the ownership of Mike Ashley.

The best-ranked club from the so-called ‘Big Six’ is Liverpool, who come third on the list.

While opposition supporters often claim the famous Anfield atmosphere is a ‘myth’, Liverpool fans were voted as the best in the Premier League in a poll taken last year.

At the other end of the table, Brentford have been named as the club with the least passionate fanbase.

However, it is not entirely clear what metrics are being used to rank the clubs, so don’t despair Bees fans.

Here are the rankings in full:

1. Leeds

2. Newcastle

3. Liverpool

4. West Ham

5. Arsenal

6. Aston Villa

7. Crystal Palace

8. Wolves

9. Norwich

10. Southampton

11. Chelsea

12. Leicester

13. Tottenham

14. Brighton

15. Everton

16. Manchester United

17. Manchester City

18. Burnley

19. Watford

20. Brentford
