Maurizio Sarri says he is okay after being involved in a brutal collision with Udinese player Ignacio Pussetto during the club's Coppa Italia win on Tuesday night.

The 63-year-old Italian, who was appointed Lazio boss in June last year, was casually patrolling the technical area when Biancocelesti midfielder Manuel Lazzari shoulder-barged Pussetto into the experienced manager.

Sarri's glasses flew off his head and he crashed to the ground with an almighty thud. You can see the painful footage below.

Moments later, after both men got to their feet, an apologetic Pussetto embraced the former Chelsea manager.

Sarri then proceeded to hold up his glasses to those watching inside the Stadio Olimpico - a gesture that seemed to suggest he was fine.

And after the full-time whistle, the Italian confirmed he was okay after the nasty collision.

“It was a good test of my current condition," he laughed. "I'd like to point out that I was the one who got back up first!"

Lazio went on to secure a place in the Coppa Italia quarter-final after Ciro Immobile scored in the 106th minute. They will face AC Milan in the competition on February 9th.

Sarri continued: “The team is improving, both in terms of spirit and quality, as tonight everyone got involved with the spirit of sacrifice, including the youth team players on the bench.

“The club is very careful and will never transform the squad in one transfer session. I knew that before I arrived. The important thing is that a club is ready mentally to accompany us in our gradual growth."
