Real Madrid could be preparing to sell one of their top stars in a massive move amid reports contract negotiations have stalled after the Club World Cup.
Following a humiliating 4-0 loss to Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid fell short of reaching the Club World Cup final.
Despite reaching the penultimate stage of the competition, Real Madrid have been relatively unimpressive in their matches in the USA, as the squad adjusts to new manager Xabi Alonso.
One player in particular that stood out as particularly lacklustre across the six matches, was star forward Vinicius Jr, who started on the left of Real's attack in all of the matches.

Since the end of their run in the Club World Cup, several reports have raised questions about Vinicius' future with the Spanish giants, with the latest claiming he could be tempted by a massive move away from La Liga.

After what was perhaps his best season yet, Vinicius impressed during the 2023-24 campaign, leading to him, somewhat controversially, finishing second in the Ballon d'Or standings, behind Manchester City's Rodri.
Yet, it appeared that the Brazilian struggled to adapt to life alongside new teammate Kylian Mbappe, as Vinicius managed just 11 league goals from 24 starts under Carlo Ancelotti last season.

Under new manager Xabi Alonso, this form has continued, with the winger scoring just one goal across the six Club World Cup games, leading to claims that the Real Madrid boss is not impressed with his star player.
And, according to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, this has led to a breakdown in planned contract talks in recent weeks.
The report claims that Real Madrid drew up a new contract for the Brazilian months ago ahead of his current deal expiring in June 2027.
However, they are yet to make contact with Vinicius about the deal, with the winger also said to not be in any rush to agree to new terms.

With that in mind, it appears that both Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr are considering a shock transfer this summer, with the Saudi Pro League believed to be the most likely destination for the 25-year-old if he were to leave.
Throughout his time in Madrid, Vinicius has been regularly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia after he held meetings with officials from the league, including vice president Saad Al Lazeez, in Prague in 2023.
Since then talks are believed to have continued, with Vinicius reportedly offered a five-year deal worth £830million, joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as they highest paid players in the world.

As part of the deal, the forward would also agree to become an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup which is set to be held in Saudi Arabia.
