Sergio Ramos’ Monterrey contract reportedly contains some extreme clauses within it.

Ramos, 38, is best known for his trophy-laden career at Real Madrid and success on the international stage with the Spain national team.

After 671 appearances and 16 seasons with the 15-time Champions League winners, he left the club in 2021 with an impressive 22 titles from his time in the Spanish capital.

He then joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of that year, linking up with the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar during his time in Paris.

In 2023, he re-signed for his boyhood club, Sevilla, having left the Andalusia side for Madrid in 2005.

And when his contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 season, many fans thought that was the end of the Spaniard’s illustrious career.

But, as those who follow him on Instagram will know, he has stayed in great physical condition and regularly posts photographs and videos of himself working out.

His hard work has been rewarded with a bumper contract at Liga MX side Monterrey.

Ramos penned a one-year deal with an option to extend earlier this month.

According to beIN SPORTS, his salary is reportedly €5 million, plus performance-based bonuses – making him the highest-paid player in the squad.

One podcast host read out the supposed details of Ramos' contract.

“Have you read his contract – how crazy it is?” said a host of the ‘Footy Culture’ podcast.

“He’s getting paid €4m, I think, plus variables. He gets to choose which games he wants to play. A bonus for every game he plays in the Club World Cup.

“A bonus for starting. He said he wants to be captain right away, so he’s captain of the team.

“Bonuses for goals and assists. Two percentage for each jersey sold with name and his number [printed on it]. He also chose number 93."

“[He has] total rights of his image,” he added.

“Freedom to negotiate with whoever he wants to whenever he wants to. Guaranteed security logistics and housing for him and his family.

“I also heard that he wants to live right beside Sergio Canales [and to have] a driver with him 24/7.”

However, the details of the contract have not been disclosed by Ramos or C.F Monterrey.
