Real Madrid are plotting a move for not just one, but two big-name players in 2025 as they continue to build one of the most feared teams in football.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is said to be 'pulling out all the stops' to sign one of the world's best defensive midfielders.

Perez has reportedly instructed his recruitment team to do 'everything possible' to get Manchester City's Rodri on board next summer, according to Football Transfers.

The 28-year-old, who has three years remaining on his current contract, is understood to be interested in a move back to Spain and the prospect will be 'taken seriously', adds the report.

That being said, Manchester City are prepared to make Rodri one of the best-paid players at the club after becoming an integral member of Pep Guardiola's side in recent years.

As well as Rodri, the Spanish giants are also keen on bringing Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz to the Bernabeu in 2025.

Wirtz helped Xabi Alonso's side to a historic unbeaten run in the Bundesliga last season, and was named the league's Player of the Season after notching 11 goals and 12 assists.

The 21-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Bayern Munich, would later become one of Germany's standout performers at Euro 2024.

In fact, Real Madrid will try and sign the player next summer if the opportunity presents itself, according to Relevo, who say Los Blancos seem 'well positioned' to make a move.

This summer, it was Kylian Mbappe who was Florentino Perez's annual galactico signing.

"I want to thank the president [Florentino Pérez] first," the Frenchman said in his transfer presentation at the Bernabeu.

"He believed in me from the first day. A lot of things happened, but I want to say thank you. I want to thank everyone who has worked for me to come here. I know it was hard but now I'm here, I'm a Real Madrid player.

"Since I was a kid I had one dream, to play here. Being here means a lot to me ... Now I want to achieve another dream, being at the level of this club, the best in the world. I can say one thing: I'll give everything for this club and this badge.
