Why Kylian Mbappe Can't Drive New BMW Car He's Been Gifted by Real Madrid

The French star has enjoyed a great start to the season under Xabi Alonso

Kylian Mbappe has been gifted a brand new BMW by Real Madrid, but there's one surprise reason he is unable to drive it.

Mbappe has enjoyed an outstanding start to the season under Xabi Alonso, scoring 14 goals in just 10 games.

That means the 26-year-old is currently the top scorer in both La Liga and the Champions League, with Real Madrid sitting top of their domestic league and second in Europe.

However, Mbappe was forced to withdraw from the France squad during this international break after he aggravated an ankle injury.

He is still not training with his Real Madrid teammates, but Alonso will be hopeful that he is available for Sunday's trip to Getafe.

Off from the pitch, Real Madrid's first team stars have all received official BMW cars, with the German manufacturer providing players with BMW i7 and BMW XM models.

But the French star will not be able to drive it as he does not have a driving license.

When will Kylian Mbappe return for Real Madrid?

After the trip to Getafe, Real Madrid face two difficult home games - first against Juventus in the Champions League, and then a clash with their great rivals Barcelona.

Last season, Hansi Flick's Barcelona beat Real Madrid in all five El Clasico matches, including the finals of the Supercopa de Espana and the Copa del Rey.

Despite Real Madrid's poor record against Barcelona, Mbappe scored five goals in El Clasico matches last year, including a hat trick in May.

For that reason, Alonso will be desperate to have Mbappe back and match fit for that game.

Could Kylian Mbappe win the Ballon d'Or next year?

Although Ousmane Dembele was only announced as the winner of this year's award last month, many fans have speculated whether Mbappe could claim it next year.

Real Madrid have started the season impressively under Alonso and Mbappe has emerged as the side's main goalscorer.

Mbappe also has a strong chance of tasting success with his national team, France.

Although they have not yet qualified for the World Cup, they are currently top of their group, and a home victory over Ukraine would secure their place in North America next summer.

Mbappe and France have reached the last two World Cup finals, beating Croatia in 2018 and losing to Argentina in 2022.

If Mbappe continues his outstanding form into the tournament, then few would bet against them doing the same again.
