Kylian Mbappe will not be the highest earner at Real Madrid despite stunning signing-on bonus

Kylian Mbappe will not be the highest earner at Real Madrid despite stunning signing-on bonus

Kylian Mbappe looks destined to join Real Madrid but reports claim he won't be their top earner.

Kylian Mbappe will not be the highest earner at Real Madrid should he make an expected move to Los Blancos this summer.

On Thursday it emerged that Mbappe had told Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract in the summer.

The France international will be a free agent and has already been able to speak to foreign clubs from 1 January.

Terms of his departure from PSG still need to be finalised but Mbappe has made his decision and now everything points to him finally signing for Real.

He looked set to do that a couple of years back when an £188 million offer was tabled, but Mbappe ended performing a major U-turn and signing a new deal with PSG.

History is unlikely to repeat itself this time around, however, with El Chiringuito claiming that Mbappe has given the green light to Real and sign a contract for a minimum of five or six years.

Real will not have to pay a transfer fee but are set to provide a signing-on bonus of less than €50 million.

With Lionel Messi and Neymar moving on, Mbappe has been PSG's top earner by some distance but that won't be the case at Real.

The 25-year-old is poised to take a substantial pay cut in order to seal his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

And the report states that Mbappe will not earn more than Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, Real's top two top stars.

One Real star has already sent the internet into meltdown after reacting to the news.

Aurelien Tchouameni, who plays with Mbappe for France, immediately took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post two popcorn emojis and get fans excited.

Mbappe signed for PSG in 2017 from Monaco and has scored a record-breaking 243 goals in 290 games, as well as winning five Ligue One titles.
