Kylian Mbappe had the coldest response when asked if he could score 50 goals for Real Madrid this season

Mbappe didn't hesitate with his answer.

Kylian Mbappe gave a cold response when asked if he could break the 50-goal barrier for Real Madrid this season.

The Frenchman joined Real on a free transfer last month after allowing his Paris Saint-Germain contract to expire.

The former PSG star's career in Spain didn't get off to the ideal start, with Mbappe suffering a broken nose at Euro 2024.

But he recovered in time for Real's UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta on Wednesday evening - and thankfully didn't need the protective mask he wore throughout the tournament in Germany.

And he marked his competitive Los Blancos debut in perfect style by scoring the second goal of the evening in a 2-0 win for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Mbappe ran onto Jude Bellingham's pass inside the penalty area before firing the ball into the top right corner.

And while it is too early to predict just how many goals the Frenchman might score for Real this season, Movistar decided to ask whether he has a particular number in mind.

When asked if he could score 50 goals in his first season at the Bernabeu - especially given the service provided by Bellingham, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior - Mbappe coldly responded: "We are Real Madrid. We have no limit."

He added: "If there are 50, then 50. The most important thing is to win and improve as a team. That's how we're going to win."

On his debut as a whole, the forward explained: "I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. To play with this shirt, with this badge, for these fans. It's a great moment for me.

"And we won a title, which is important. In Madrid, you always have to win.

"I'm very happy, and with the goal too for sure, it's important for a striker like me. But the most important thing was to be able to have the pleasure of playing with this team. I had a lot of enthusiasm. It's a great day."
