Kylian Mbappe's reaction to Real Madrid's impressive performance against Borussia Dortmund has gone viral on social media.

Following their round of 16 win over Italian giants Juventus, Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund in a Club World Cup quarter-final clash at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

After missing the rest of the tournament as he recovered from being hospitalised and treated for gastroenteritis, star striker Mbappe returned to the matchday squad for the game on the bench.

With the Frenchman ruled out of the opening matches, young striker Gonzalo Garcia has stepped up for Real Madrid, scoring three goal and assisting one in four matches in the competition.

And the clash with Dortmund was no different, as just ten minutes into the match against Dortmund, and fans believe that Mbappe may now be concerned about his future at the club.

After a draw with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in their opening match, some Real Madrid fans were concerned about the team's performance under new manager Xabi Alonso.

However, a statement win over Juventus followed by impressive performances from the team against Dortmund has got some fans thinking that the new manager may be reluctant to make changes to his starting lineup next season, even if it means benching Mbappe.

After an classy bit of skill from defender Fran Garcia, who scored Real Madrid's second goal, cameras cut to Mbappe on the bench, and fans think it showed that he is concerned by how good Madrid are playing without him.

Reacting to the clip, one fan wrote on X: "Every team that gets rid of Mbappe becomes better man i feel bad."

While one claimed: "He saw unemployment flash before his eyes."

And another wrote: "Kylian Mbappe is going to have to work really hard to get Gonzalo García out of Real Madrid's starting XI, this guy is on fire!"

Should Real Madrid hold on to their lead over Borussia Dortmund, they will face Paris Saint-Germain in a semi-final, after the Champions League winners beat Bayern Munich 2-0 earlier on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will face Brazilian side Fluminense in the other Club World Cup semi-final.
