Barcelona fans have turned on one player after their shock 4-1 La Liga defeat to Sevilla.

Hansi Flick's side could have gone top of the Spanish top flight with a victory on Sunday, but suffered a heavy loss instead at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Ex-Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez put Sevilla in front against his former club from the penalty spot in the first half.

Isaac Romero then made it 2-0 for the hosts, before Marcus Rashford pulled one back with his third goal of the season before half-time.

Barca had an opportunity to equalise on 76 minutes, but Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty.

Their misery was further compounded when Jose Angel Carmona netted a third for Sevilla on 90 minutes, before Akor Adams put further gloss on the scoreline in stoppage time.

Lewandowski produced a 'hop' - in a similar style to ex-Arsenal midfielder Jorginho - before his penalty, but put his effort well wide of the left post, which was followed by jeers from the home faithful in attendance.

And Barca fans have been left furious at the Pole, who has scored four goals in nine matches this season.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Taking a pen after such a horrible performance is a crime."

A second fumed: "Lewa penalty technique gotta be the worst I've ever seen."

A third added: "A team with squad depth wouldn't play Lewandowski."

While a fourth said: "Please, I don't know how we are going to get the money. We need a new striker."

And a fifth wrote: "Lewandowski should be shipped to Saudi next season."

Barcelona have had a mixed start to the 2025/26 season, with this being their second defeat in four days.

They suffered a 2-1 loss to PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday, with midfielder Dani Olmo bearing the brunt of the criticism from Les Cules fans.

Barca return to action after the international break on October 18, when they host Girona in what is scheduled to be their first La Liga game back at Camp Nou after significant renovation work to the stadium.
