A new report claims there is 'considerable concern' at Barcelona over their performance against Club Brugge, with Marcus Rashford's contribution on the left flank being mentioned.

Since joining on a season-long loan from Manchester United, a revitalised Rashford has been one of Barcelona's standout performers.

The 28-year-old has contributed six goals and seven assists across 15 games for the Catalan giants, with his form in the Champions League being hailed by many, including those behind the scenes at Barca.

In fact, a report from The Sun last month claimed the Spanish club were "ecstatic" with Rashford, who is said to have impressed onlookers with his work ethic and talent.

But on Wednesday night, his so-called 'limited' contribution in their Champions League league phase clash against Club Brugge was questioned as Barca conceded three goals at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

A report from Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo suggests there is 'considerable concern' at the club regarding their left flank against Brugge.

Alejandro Balde was 'exposed' after failing to mark Carlos Forbs tightly before his first goal. The defender was also accused of giving the former Manchester City striker too much space before he delivered a cutback pass to Niccolo Tresoldi.

The report went on to mention Rashford's lack of support for Balde. "Adding to this is Rashford 's limited contribution in pressing high up the pitch and tracking back to support Balde and the rest of the team," it read.

Barcelona have been without Raphinha for a lengthy period after the Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury in late September. His absence has had a 'significant impact on the team's overall structure'.

"His 34 goals last season, combined with his unwavering intensity, have a contagious effect on the rest of the forward line and act as a buffer for the deeper areas of Barcelona's left flank," added Mundo Deportivo.

"There's a lot of room for improvement."

How much Barcelona would have to pay for Marcus Rashford

Barcelona's financial situation has been an issue in the past, but it appears the club could sign Rashford for a very reasonable price.

It is being widely reported that the defending La Liga champions would have to pay £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons to get a deal over the line, while United would also command a share of any sell-on fee.
