Barcelona fans have spoken out to give their verdict on Ansu Fati after his first start in six months.

On Tuesday night, Barcelona took another step towards winning the 2024/25 La Liga title with a 1-0 win over Real Club Deportivo Mallorca at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

When the lineup for the match was named shortly before kick off, many fans were shocked to see that Barcelona star Raphinha was named on the bench for the game, replaced by Fati who earned his first start since October.

In the wake of the match, fans of the La Liga giants took to social media to offer their opinion on the Spaniard's performance, and it seems many of them are in agreement.

Having come through the famous La Masia academy, Fati has long been seen as a future star and a wonderkid at Barcelona and yet, the winger has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter.

So far this season, Fati has made just 10 appearances for Barcelona, with only five of them coming in La Liga, meaning fans were eager to see how he would get on against Mallorca.

And it's safe to say that they were impressed, as Fati played just over an hour of the crucial win.

Reacting to Fati's performance in the match, one fan wrote: "Great performance from Fati today he looked sharp for someone who hasn't played in a while. Definitely should start again next game against Real Valladolid."

Another agreed, adding: "Fati’s associative intelligence is ridiculous; his ability to process spatial/temporal dynamics, and anticipate passing networks is exceptional. in another universe, under Flick and his central prioritisation, he is a very clear heavy hitter."

While one commented: "Excellent 60 minutes from Ansu Fati. I'm refusing to get sucked into hoping too much again but I really liked him.

"He just generates so much football. Such great awareness, technicality in small spaces and spatial recognition."

In total, the 22-year-old has made 122 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 29 goals and assisting eight.

Last season, the youngster spent some time on loan in the Premier League playing for Brighton and Hove Albion, but failed to impress, scoring four goals in 27 appearances.
