Sergio Ramos stopped his post-match interview following Sevilla's 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao to argue with a fan in the stands.

Goals from Mikel Vesga and Aitor Paredes were enough to condemn Quique Sanchez Flores' side to their ninth La Liga defeat of the season.

Sevilla are currently 16th in the table, well below their usual standards. Sanchez Flores is already their third coach of the campaign following the sackings of Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso.

Ramos rejoined his boyhood club over the summer after allowing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain to expire.

When asked about his decision to return, he explained: "I'm looking forward to wearing the Sevilla crest again, stepping out at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, and seeing you all again.

"I believe that it was not only a debt owed to myself, but also to my family, to my grandfather who made me a Sevillista when I was young, my father.

"From now on, I think there was no point in taking another course, any other direction than going back home."

The 37-year-old has featured 15 times in all competitions this term and knows better than anyone it's not going well.

While speaking to DAZN at full-time on Thursday evening, a Sevilla supporter attempted to confront Ramos over the team's current predicament.

A passionate Ramos stopped answering his question to get his frustrations off his chest.

The World Cup winner wildly gestured with his arms before shouting: "Have a little respect, people are talking here!

"Have a little respect for the people and the badge. Shut up and go!"

It's probably not wise to get on Ramos' bad side.

The 37-year-old has received five bookings and one red card this season, which averages a caution every three games.

Ramos' Sevilla deal is worth just over €2 million per season, an astonishing 90 per cent less than he would've earned had he accepted an offer from Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad.

Sevilla return to action against Racing Ferrol in the Copa del Rey on Sunday afternoon.
