Kylian Mbappe Becomes Only The 12th Player To Receive 10/10 L'Equipe Rating After First France Hat-Trick

Kylian Mbappe Becomes Only The 12th Player To Receive 10/10 L'Equipe Rating After First France Hat-Trick

Kylian Mbappe's four-goal haul saw him receive the esteemed 10/10 rating from L'Equipe.

Kylian Mbappe has become only the 12th player in history to receive a 10/10 rating from L'Equipe.

On Saturday night, the Paris Saint-Germain star scored four, including a stunning 32-minute hat-trick, in the 8-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan.

The rout at the Parc Des Princes, where Mbappe has played his club football for four years, secured the World Cup holders' qualification to the showpiece in Qatar next winter.

Mbappe exploded into life in the first half with a glorious trio of goals, before helping himself to another in the 87th minute.

He also set up one of Karim Benzema's two strikes as the two continued their impressive link-up on the pitch.

And Mbappe's masterclass saw him given the perfect score by French newspaper L'Equipe.

It was the first time Mbappe has been given the rare rating, after somehow missing out when he scored a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona at the Nou Camp last season.

But he now joins his PSG teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar in the exclusive 10/10 club.

The first perfect rating went to former Sochaux ace Franck Sauzée for his outing against Greece Under 21s 1988. In the same game, goalkeeper Bruno Martini was given a ten after keeping a clean sheet.

Then Messi came along. The six-time Ballon d'Or winner received a 10/10 on two occasions for a pair of outrageous displays against Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

During his Borussia Dortmund days, Robert Lewandowski dropped a ridiculous four-goal haul to sink Real Madrid at Signal Iduna Park and had the esteemed rating bestowed upon him.

Neymar's heroics against Dijon in Ligue One in 2018 saw him becoming the second Brazilian to achieve the feat in France after Carlos Eduardo scored five for Nice as he ran the show in a 7-2 win against Guingamp.

Another Samba star would soon join, though. Lucas Moura's phenomenal hat-trick for Spurs in a Champions League semi-final comeback win over Ajax in Amsterdam was rightly rewarded with the maximum mark.

Dusan Tadic and Serge Gnabry are also members of the ten club after coming up with clutch displays on the biggest stage in European club football in 2019.

12 players are in the flawless group, with Messi the only one to feature on two occasions. Despite a slew of match-winning performances, Cristiano Ronaldo has never received the coveted mark.

L'Equipe's list of 10/10 ratings:

1. Franck Sauzee (1988)

2. Bruno Martini (1988)

3. Oleg Salenko (1994)

4. Lars Windfeld (1997)

5. Lionel Messi (2010)

6. Lionel Messi (2012)

7. Robert Lewandowski (2013)
